Saab Key Programming
Saab cars built since 1994 use an immobilizer system that is based on key codes. The addition of a key requires the purchase of a new transponder as well as special programming. This is usually done by the dealer using a Tech2 diagnostic tool.
The problem is that this could be extremely expensive. It is recommended to always have a spare set of keys available.
Transponder key
The transponder is a key equipped with an electronic chip. The chip sends a signal when the key is placed into the ignition. The car then checks the signal to determine whether it is identical to the one that is in the key. If the signals are in sync it will unlock and start. Jumpstarting the battery
Most people keep a few sets of jumper cables in their trunk to use in an emergency however, jumping a battery for newer vehicles might not be the best option. A voltage spike when the battery is connected to another could cause damage to these components, rendering your vehicle unable to drive.
Start the working vehicle and allow it to run for approximately two minutes before you connect the cables to the non-working one.
